At the moment a pilot project is being constructed in the municipality of Rotterdam with the Wave tile. The municipality of Rotterdam has purchased approx. 500 m2 of our new tile for processing at various locations within the municipality.
A first test piece was created by Fa. Dark Green in the Mathenesserflat gardens. Here, an open (filled with shells) and closed pattern has been chosen.
Climate change not only means rainwater problems, but also heat stress and longer periods of drought. The patterns of the Wave tiles give a lot of design freedom and enable softening and intensive greening.
The Wave tiles can be infinitely varied in patterns from open to a closed surface. This gives a lot of design freedom for a unique result and makes the application area versatile. The patterns vary from completely closed to a maximum of 25% open space. The rainwater can infiltrate through the open spaces to the ground.
There are several options for filling the open spaces, from gravel to green. In this way rainwater is also made visible in the public space.
